Sustainability
Responsible destination management in Miami and South Florida
South Florida hosts one of the most special natural environments on earth and we have a responsibility to protect it. The Everglades. The Florida Keys coral reefs. Biscayne Bay. The Atlantic coastline. These are not just spectacular program backdrops, but rather they are irreplaceable natural treasures that Stuart Gardner and the Florida Meeting Services team have spent forty years loving, respecting and working to preserve. Sustainability is not a page on our website. It is a true commitment to make sure that every program we deliver leaves South Florida better than we found it.
Our approach to responsible destination management
Protecting South Florida's natural environment
From the Everglades, one of the world's most unique and fragile ecosystems, to the coral reefs of the Florida Keys and the pristine waters of Biscayne Bay, South Florida's natural wonders are among the most precious in North America. We work exclusively with operators, guides and transport providers who share our commitment to environmental responsibility. Minimising footprint, respecting protected areas and we make sure that every group experience leaves the natural environment completely undisturbed. As a lifelong Florida native, Stuart Gardner takes personal pride in protecting the state he has called home his entire life.
Supporting local communities across South Florida
We believe that tourism should create genuine value for the people and communities that make Miami so special. We actively choose local suppliers, independent restaurants, family-owned businesses, Cuban community enterprises in Little Havana, local artisans and neighborhood-rooted vendors wherever possible. We want to make sure that the economic benefit of every program flows directly into the communities that give Miami its authentic, irreplaceable character.
Celebrating authentic cultural connections
Florida Meeting Services has spent forty years building deep relationships with the communities, cultures and people that make South Florida unique. From Miami's vibrant Cuban community to the Native American heritage of the Everglades. Our programs are built around authentic local connections that respect and celebrate these cultures rather than simply consuming them.
This approach is inherently sustainable as it supports cultural preservation, respects local traditions and creates meaningful exchanges between international guests and the South Florida communities they visit.
Responsible operations in our own business
Sustainability starts in our own office in Fort Lauderdale. We operate as paperlessly as possible, proposals, contracts and documents shared digitally. We power down equipment when not in use, encourage sustainable commuting and travel and continuously look for ways to reduce our day-to-day environmental footprint. Small consistent steps make a real difference over time.

Our commitment going forward
Sustainability is a journey and forty years of operating in Florida has given us a deep appreciation of how precious and how vulnerable this environment truly is. We are continuously reviewing our practices, listening to our clients and raising our standards.
If your organisation has specific ESG requirements or sustainability goals for your Miami program, carbon offset requirements, community impact reporting or specific environmental certifications, we welcome that conversation and will do everything in our power to meet your requirements.
South Florida's natural wonders: our responsibility to protect them
Florida is home to some of North America's most spectacular and fragile natural environments and Miami sits at the gateway to all of them.
The Everglades America's only subtropical wilderness
a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on earth. Every Everglades experience Florida Meeting Services arranges is conducted with fully certified, responsible operators who prioritise conservation and education alongside the breathtaking adventure.
Biscayne Bay Miami's stunning natural harbour
home to manatees, dolphins, tropical fish and one of the most beautiful urban waterways in the world. Every private cruise and water-based experience we arrange respects the bay's marine environment and works with operators committed to its long-term preservation.
The Florida Keys & Coral Reefs
The only living coral barrier reef in the continental United States. It is stunningly beautiful and very fragile. We work exclusively with responsible operators in the Keys who prioritise reef conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
